How can you produce more sustainably with TRUMPF?

As a high-tech company, we want to help our customers reduce their carbon footprint. We do this by producing modern machines and laser systems with intelligent functions and by optimizing production processes. We also offer our customers expandable production systems and refurbished used machines.

We develop sustainable solutions.

We offer sustainable solutions and are working intensively on innovative products that can help you to save energy and materials.

We stand for intelligent applications.

We understand your applications and help you to use your systems in the best possible way and to keep your processes efficient and profitable.

We offer expandable production systems.

Thanks to Product Enhancements and the integration of older machines (retrofitting), your existing TRUMPF systems can be flexibly adapted to new efficiency requirements and climate protection regulations.

We give machines a second life.

In our resale center we overhaul used machines and give them a second life. We save material and energy by reusing the body of the machine.

Four approaches to more climate protection in your production

Efficient solutions for more climate protection in your production

Save energy electrically

The patented Delta Drive works electrically - and requires  significantly less energy than hydraulically driven punching and punch-laser machines.

More speed, less gas

BrightLine Speed increases the cutting speed in 3D laser cutting by up to 60 percent and cuts your cutting gas consumption in half thanks to X blast nozzles. This saves up to €20,000 per year compared to conventional laser cutting.

Want to learn about more solutions for making your production more sustainable?

Decide whether you want to save energy, material or operating resources - and we will show you which solutions can be used to achieve this.

Active Speed Control

Active Speed Control is a feed control that monitors the cutting process through the nozzle and automatically controls the feed rate. Even if the thickness or quality of the sheet metal varies, it achieves the optimum result. Producing more good parts means less rejects – saving you material.

BrightLine Speed

Delta Drive makes 3D laser cutting up to 60% quicker, requiring roughly 50% less cutting gas in the process thanks to X blast nozzles. Save up to €20,000 each year with Delta Drive!

CoolLine

This function cools the material for top cutting results, even for thick steel. The benefit for you: Nest closer with less scrap skeleton.

Delta Drive

The patented drive works electrically, requiring around 20% less energy than hydraulically driven punching and punch-laser machines.

Drop&Cut

User-friendly and cost-effect post-production and using up scrap skeleton with minimal effort – but how? A camera displays the live image of the remainder sheet on the control and the operator positions the desired part using the touch function or with the click of the mouse.

Electric drives for bending machines

The new electric motors save up to 40% energy when bending compared to previous drives.

Electric heating concepts

TRUMPF Hüttinger offers a wide range of power supplies for your electric heating concept, from direct current to microwave generators. This means that fossil fuel-based processes can be converted to operation using electrical or electromagnetic power supplies.

Energy Cockpit

The Energy Cockpit in Smart View (production module) displays exactly how much energy your laser requires over time, allowing you to identify possible optimizations.

Forming tap breakage control

Is the correct tapping tool fitted? The function uses the available sensors to check. It can also detect thread breakage on the machine.

Highspeed Eco

The laser cutting process saves up to 70% cutting gas with fusion cutting compared to cutting without Highspeed Eco. Reducing your carbon emissions and energy requirements as a result.

TruDisk 6001
Laser start-stop system

In optimized standby mode, TRUMPF high-power solid-state lasers require roughly 60 percent less energy. The smart control automatically switches the laser to various energy-saving states during production brakes and re-activates it when required.

Nanojoints

Nest parts more closely with nanojoints to reduce your material consumption and costs. Depending on the shape of the part, skeleton-free nesting is also possible –  allowing you to get 12% more out of the sheet in many applications.

Sheet size recognition

Is the correct sheet size on the machine? The plausibility check uses the available sensors to check. If it identifies an incorrect sheet size, it stops the processing.

Smart punch monitoring

The Energy Cockpit detects and reports when punches are broken at an early stage, avoiding rejects in the process. This offers a great advantage, particularly for additional shifts and weekend operation.

Stand-by mode

Stand-by mode reduces the energy consumption of TRUMPF marker lasers by almost 50 percent. Good to know: The laser system is ready to use again right away as soon as a new marking order is received.

Stroke calibration

The integrated measurement system ensures the defined stripper positions are safely approached. It also informs the operating personnel if the measured sheet thickness deviates from the expected thickness.

Utilize the potential of existing machines

You have a laser system or a machine tool from TRUMPF. Do you know what it's capable of and utilize all of these features? Many different adjustments can be made in order to save raw materials, energy or consumables. These include, for example, nesting, part design, training, or technology selection.

Processing of spare parts with Xchange

In the event of an exchange, we will take back high-quality genuine parts with the Xchange label and prepare them for reuse. In this way, the refurbished parts find their way back into circulation.

Nesting: Put as many parts as possible on the sheet

Saving sheet metal means saving CO2. Whether laser cutting or punching: Place your parts in such a way that the sheet metal is used to the maximum. The TruTops Boost programming system makes it easy. It takes into account both the process (cutting or punching) and the ejection of the parts.

Predictive Maintenance: A clean machine

Thanks to Condition Monitoring, the maintenance and servicing of your machines and beam sources are based on actual requirements. Specifically, this means: cooling water, oil or parts are only changed when it is really necessary. If a malfunction occurs, often nothing needs to be replaced, just readjusted. The bottom line is that properly maintained systems ensure a higher good part rate.

Production line: laser cutting from the coil

With more efficient nesting on coils instead of sheets, the TruLaser 8000 Coil Edition allows you to save up to 1,700 tons of steel per year. This corresponds to approx. 4,000 tons of CO2 and 1.6 million euros in material costs.

Training: Up to date on energy saving

We are consistently developing our machines and processes further. Stay ahead of the game: with online updates for maximum performance. Regular training of your team helps to ensure that resources are saved in manufacturing. Training in parts optimization or updates for operating personnel are just some of the training opportunities available.

Beading: Reinforce thinner sheets

Reduce your material consumption when punching by up to 50 percent - by reinforcing thin sheet metal with beads. The lightweight construction saves weight, which also makes it easier to transport the finished parts. All you need for this: A roller beading tool.

Technology selection: Punching saves electricity

Compared to laser cutting, punching is an energy-saving technology. The process itself uses less electricity; shorter production times for simple, repetitive contours also save energy. In general, you should not subject galvanized materials to laser cutting, since the corrosion protection evaporates with the galvanizing. This is one reason to ensure that you select the optimal technology when programming. Our experts will be happy to provide you with comparative figures on power input.

Technology selection: Highspeed LMD for coating brake disks

The Euro 7 Emission Standard increases the requirements for brake disks.  With the patented technology, you increase your coating quality with laser deposition welding and significantly reduce the consumption of powder material.

Part optimization: Do more with less

Rethinking the design of components can save material. For example, brackets are often machined from solid material, although punching and forming tools produce the same effect in sheet metal. Sensor holder example: Attachment contours are created on the components by punching and forming. Milling, on the other hand, removes material, and the base plate is twice as thick as the comparable part.
