Brake calliper
The hydraulic brake calliper for a mountain bike disc brake system is very commonly used in the descent-based mountain bike sector, such as Enduro and Downhill. Additive manufacturing makes it easy to produce fine honeycomb and lattice structures. These structures increase the surface area of the component considerably and act as heat sinks. This helps to efficiently dissipate the heat generated while braking and to ensure the hydraulic oil of the brake remains under the boiling point in the long term. In addition, the internal hydraulic channels can adopt any conceivable shape and position. This means that edges, corners and bending cooling ducts can be completely eliminated. Turbulence and congested areas (e.g. air in the hydraulic system) become a thing of the past!
