TRUMPF is changing over the licence management for TruTops products so that you can manage your licences easily and flexibly.

How will the licensing change-over work?

You only need to install the new version of your particular TruTops product to benefit from the improved licence management. The new licensing is automatically installed when you update to the latest software version.

What do I need to know about the licence activation?

There are various options for licence activation

The licence can be linked to a USB dongle.
The licence can be linked to a computer and so be transferred to that computer.

If you use a virtual machine, a dongle is required for the change-over (hardware-based software protection).

How does the licensing change-over work?

Following the installation of the software update, the licence management (TRUMPF License Expert) is automatically activated.

I have a valid service agreement. How can I get the new licence management?

You will be sent a DVD with the latest software version as part of an update. Following the installation of the software update, the licence management is automatically activated.

I do not have a valid service agreement. How can I get the new licence management?

We offer a service agreement with favourable conditions so that you can obtain the software update. Please get in touch with your contact person in Sales for further details.

I have not received a DVD with the latest software version. What should I do?

Why do I need another dongle?

A dongle is essential for the use of a licence server in a virtual environment (hardware-based software protection).

Can I use the 2011 dongle after the licensing change-over?

No, a new dongle is required.

Can I exchange my old 2011 dongle for a new one?

No, that is not possible.

I have not received a dongle. What should I do?

Please get in touch with your contact person in Sales.

Is it possible to use the licences when I am out and about?

Yes. For this, you need a dongle or you need to have activated the licences on your laptop.

When will the other TruTops products be changed over to the new licence protection?

The change-over will take place step-by-step. The individual TruTops products will be changed over by mid-2017. We will provide you with information about this in good time.

What happens if I do not carry out the software update with the licence change-over?

From mid-2017, the new licence management will be compulsory for all TruTops products. If you do not carry out the update, your existing licences will be frozen on the current hardware. This means it will no longer be possible to carry out updates, licence migrations etc. or to swap computers.
