High-performance components - automated welding thanks to intelligent robotic and optics solutions

Industrial robot

For laser welding, TRUMPF relies on high-quality, precise industrial robots. They are particularly low-maintenance and have been tried and tested thousands of times in industry.

Laser and optics

At the core of every TRUMPF laser welding cell are the laser and the welding optics. At TRUMPF, the entire system comes from a single source, including the beam guidance. It is perfectly tailored to the respective welding job. BrightLine Scan optics are a special highlight, combining the properties of scanner optics with those of focusing optics.

Cobot

A collaborative robot, nicknamed Cobot, is used on the TruArc Weld 1000. You can simply move the robot by hand for programming. The process is particularly easy thanks to the integrated force-momentum sensor.

Welding source and torch

For arc welding, TRUMPF relies on a partnership with Fronius and their high-performance welding sources and torches.

Incredibly simple programming

Simple programming for arc welding

For simple programming, TRUMPF has equipped the collaborative robot (cobot) of the TruArc Weld 1000 with an operating unit for storing the paths as well as the start and end points of the weld seam. The control also contains templates that simplify programming. In this way, skilled welders become programmers without requiring a great deal of training. An E-learning course is sufficient.

High-quality visualization and the sensor system make work easier

With the outstanding process visualization of the TruLaser Weld 5000, you can keep an eye on the weld seam and optimally adjust your process. Sensor systems make your work even easier. TeachLine, for example, reliably detects the position of the component and adjusts your program accordingly before welding.

TruTops Weld: Program offline, while the machine is producing

With TruTops Weld, you program while your TruLaser Weld 5000 machine is welding. And that's not all. The program creation is also significantly faster: TruTops Weld calculates the robot movement automatically instead of approaching and programming each point individually with the robot. Additional software functions reduce more work for you.

You receive an extensive set of welding parameters with your robotic welding cell - regardless of whether you weld with an arc or with a laser. You benefit from our expertise and save yourself the trouble of searching for parameters.

Efficient operation parallel to production

Two-station operation

Depending on the component and lot sizes, the TruArc Weld 1000 welding cells are used in single-station or two-station operation. The robot travels on a linear axis from station 1 to station 2.

Dual station table

The dual station table and the TruLaser Weld 5000 enable you to set up outside the cell during the welding process. This boosts the efficiency of your system.

Rotary table

Double your throughput – the rotary table rotates by 180° in its processing position within the cell, and back to the loading position. This is perfect for fast "round-the-clock" processing of high piece counts.

Fixtures - benefit from TRUMPF expertise

Sheet metal fixtures

TRUMPF customers can learn the basic principles of fixture design in seminars or customized workshops. The focus is on fixtures made of sheet metal, as this is usually the more economical solution compared to other fixture concepts. For this purpose, cut sheets of metal are inserted into one another to form the main body of the fixture.

Simple fixtures made of standard clamping elements

For small series, you can also use standard clamping systems to build a fixture. This is economical because the clamping elements can be reused several times. The fastening is easy via the work table with standard D16 hole pattern in 50 x 50 mm scale.

Welding without a fixture

For very small piece counts, investing in a separate fixture is often not worthwhile. It is also not necessary. For small piece counts, you can tack components and use simple clamps as a stop.

Accessibility – safely weld even complex and large components

Rotary module

With the rotary module on the TruLaser Weld 5000, the shielding gas nozzle and welding wire nozzle can rotate 360° around the optics. This means less reorientation of the robot is required and access is improved. The programming is also simpler, particularly for complex geometries.

Rotate and tilt positioner

The rotate and tilt positioner on the TruLaser Weld 5000 offers two additional axes. It can rotate and tilt, thereby bringing the component and the welding optics together in the best possible way.

Rotary table with rotating or turning axis

An additional rotary axis on the compact rotary table or a turning axis on the larger rotary table properly align your components. This improves accessibility.

Turnover positioner for XXL components

The TruLaser Weld 5000 robot travels along a linear axis, covering a large work area. In line with this, the system has a four-meter long turnover positioner. This allows you to efficiently weld particularly large components.
