TRUMPF joins Catena-X Automotive Network

Ditzingen, August 5, 2021 – TRUMPF has become a member of the Catena-X Automotive Network e.V. following the signing of the corresponding membership agreements by representatives of the high-tech company and the alliance for secure and standardized data exchange. The Catena-X Network aims to create the conditions for companies to exchange data along the entire automotive value chain. As a long-standing partner to the automotive industry and a leading e-mobility equipment supplier, TRUMPF has established a solid base of expertise in the field of connected manufacturing. What’s more, its position as a leading provider and key user of digitally connected machines, software and services for sheet-metal fabrication puts it in the perfect position to provide the network with in-depth knowledge of the production processes used by small and medium-sized enterprises. By examining applications in this sector, it is possible to gain important insights into the manufacturing process as a whole, ranging from small suppliers to major automakers. “We provide our solutions to both big-name automakers and mid-sized companies. We’re now looking forward to channeling our expertise from both those worlds into the Catena-X Automotive Network. Our aim is to provide fast and easy access to a European cloud and data infrastructure, especially for smaller companies. Tapping into data along the entire supply chain

Catena-X’s vision is to develop a user-friendly environment for the creation, operation and collaborative use of data along the entire automotive value chain. One of the network’s goals is to help ensure the quality of auto manufacturing and sustainability standards from one end of the supply chain to the other. Members of the Catena-X Network include BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Siemens, BOSCH, BASF, SAP, Fraunhofer and DMG MORI. Numerous small and medium-sized enterprises are also on board. The network aims to have the first 1,000 companies using Catena-X services by 2022.
